Rita Lapointe

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Rita LaPointe of Residence Prestige Bathurst, which occured at the Chaleur Regional Hospital on April 16 2024 after a brief illness at the age of 95. She was the wife of the late James Edward LaPointe.

Rita is the last surviving member of her family. She was the daughter of the late David and Stella (Lavigne) Carrier of Lorne. She was predeceased by 2 sisters and 3 brothers..

Rita is survived by her childrens-- Alvin (Vanna),  Argentine, Ownerd (Nicole), Vivian (Ronald),  Adeline,  Antoine (Gail),  Annette, and  Louis (Anita), 18 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren.

Rita was predeceased by an infant son Donald, her youngest son Eugene (Lorraine) in January 2024,  and a grandson Danny.

A graveside service will be held at the at the St. Maria Goretti Church, Lorne on May 31, 2024 at 2pm. Arrangements are in the care of MacMillan & Drapeau Funeral Home in Black Point.
