Welcome to the memorial page for

Kathleen (Young) Calhoun

July 5, 1937 ~ September 13, 2017 (age 80) 80 Years Old

Kathleen Loretta Calhoun (Kathy), 80, of Belledune New Brunswick passed away peacefully on Wednesday September 13th at Bathurst Regional Hospital.
Kathleen's loved ones will be honoring her wishes by holding a graveside service at 2:00 pm on Tuesday September 19th, 2017 at St. John the Evangelist church in Belledune New Brunswick. Funeral arrangements are being handled by MacMillan's Funeral Home.
Kathleen was born in Durham Bridge, New Brunswick on July 5th, 1937. Kathleen moved to Belledune upon marrying her late husband John McDonnell where she raised her seven children.
Kathleen later moved to McGivney New Brunswick, marrying her late husband Delbert Calhoun and enjoyed a long career with the province of New Brunswick's Natural Resources department.
Upon her retirement, Kathleen moved back to Belledune to be closer to her children. She enjoyed being in nature, particularly tending to her flowers and her garden. Although nature was one of her great loves, her greatest love of all was her children, grand-children and great-grand children. Kathleen was a very kind woman who loved to lend a helping hand to anyone in need and was often fondly called "Sis" by those who knew her well.
Kathleen is survived by her children Debra Goudreau (Phillip), Jo-Anne Haché, Glen McDonnell (Solange), Frank McDonnell (Cindy), Michael McDonnell (Marilyn); her sisters Bonita Pond, Carol Merlo (Tony) and Lois Amero (Clyde); her brother Wayne Young; her 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grand children.
Kathleen was predeceased by her parents Glendon and Flora Young; her brothers Carl Young and Leon Young; her children Lindsay McDonnell and Patricia Boucher and her grandson Chris McDonnell.
Her family is eternally grateful for the compassionate care she received while in the palliative care unit and wish that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the palliative care unit of the Bathurst Regional Hospital.
