Mona (Landry) Firlotte

It is with great sadness that the family of Mona (Landry) Firlotte wishes to announce her passing on July 25, 2019 at the age of 93.  She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family in Moncton, NB.  Born in Nash Creek, she was the daughter of the late John and Josephine (Elsleiger) Landry.

In 2014, she was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Wendell Firlotte as well as her brother James.  She will be lovingly missed by her four children: Brenda Firlotte of Moncton, Eric Firlotte (Betty) of Dalhousie, Wanda MacLellan (Allan) of Moncton and Kirk Firlotte (Dixie) of Minto.  She & Wendell had seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Mona was a devoted stay at home mom who supported & loved Wendell while raising their 4 children.  She was smart, adventurous, active, funny & strong. She was an active member of the Catholic Woman’s League (CWL).  In memory of her long time service, an honour guard will be performed at her funeral.

She loved entertaining family & friends.  Her family has many fond memories of gatherings and holidays filled with food and laughter.  She especially loved all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Mona continued to knit them all mittens into her 90’s.

Her funeral will be held from St. John Bosco Church, Dalhousie Thursday, August 1st at 11 am.  Funeral arrangements are in the care of MacMillan’s Funeral Home, Black Point.
