 Randolph David Shannon 

Born September 3, 1955 

On September 28th, 2018, our beloved brother, uncle, son and friend passed peacefully at home. 

Born and raised in a small town in northern NB, he graduated from Dalhousie university with a degree in Physiotherapy. He moved to Hawkesbury , Ontario where he worked helping patients and friends. 

Settling in Ottawa in the early 90’s, his need to help others evident by his extensive volunteer service to the LGBT and HIV community of Ottawa. 

Randolph is known by all in his life as having a “ joie de vive “. Always the adventurer, physically active energetic person. He had a love of nature, camping, hiking, cycling, swimming, and yoga. He liked to travel and embraced cultural experiences, people and food. He loved to entertain and cook for family and friends. 

Despite adversity, Randolph was a champion for his community , an inspiration to his siblings, nieces , nephews and source of pride for his parents. 

Son of Raymond Shannon, predeceased by his mother Claudette Joncas (Shannon). Survived by brothers Wade, Danny, sisters Cheryl, Kim, Cynthia, numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. 

The family would like to thank the numerous care providers both in Ottawa and the United States for their expertise. 

Special recognition to his palliative care team “LHIN" Dr. Cross, Victoria and the nursing team for your exceptional care of Randolph and the family. 

A Celebration of Life is planned for Saturday, July 06, 2019 at 1 PM at the Jacquet River Legion. All are welcome.
