Adrien Hickey

June 26, 1947 – July 21, 2023

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Adrien Hickey.

Son of the late Oliver Hickey and Gertrude (Lapointe) Hickey.

Adrien is survived by his loving wife Diane; children Keith (Marlene) of Doyleville and Laurie (Paul) of Scottsdale, AZ; grandchildren Jenna, Hanna, Zachary and Zoe; his siblings Jocelyn (Charles), Phillip, Michael (Iva), Greg (Lynn) and predeceased by his siblings Mary Stella, Ronnie and Eric.

Adrien was a kind, generous and devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend. Born and raised in Nash Creek, he and Diane settled in Jacquet River where they resided with their family. From his teenage years, he became a miner alongside his father and brothers where he worked in many countries all over the world. He had a love of whiskey, hockey, cars and camping. His infectious laugh and sense of humor always brightened every room. He was an incredible man and will be deeply missed.

We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the ICU staff at Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst for their care and compassion, to the extramural staff at the Dalhousie office and a special thank you to Marie-Lyne Lussier for her part in his diagnosis.

His funeral service will be held at the St. Gabriels Church, Jacquet River on September 05, 2023 at 2pm. Arrangements are in the care of MacMillan’s Funeral Home.
