Alfreda (Freda) Mallaley
It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Alfreda (Freda) Mallaley (O’Brien) at the age of 75.
Born July 6th, 1949, in Lorne, NB. Freda was the daughter of the late Norman and Alphosine (Lavigne) O’Brien. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her husband Isreal Mallaley, sisters Laurena (Lechat) Hickey, Lorraine Daigle, brother Colman Obrien and niece Tracy Lapointe.
She is survived by her children: Adam (Doreen), James (Lana), Patsy (Randolph), Dean (Tanya), Darlene (Norman), Tammy (Jeff), and her grandson whom she raised James Junior (JJ). Her siblings Peggy (Dan), Sherman (Gisele), Perry, and Glen (Jeannie).
She will be profoundly missed by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she cherished, and who love her dearly, as well as her many nieces and nephews.
Freda was an active member of the Lorne Church for many years and always enjoyed being a member of the choir. She spent many years volunteering for the Lorne Hall, organizing countless events for the community alongside other great women who she was proud to call her friends.
She loved crocheting, countless babies have been swaddled in one of her many creations over the years.
Freda also enjoyed line dancing, playing bingo and staying up all night playing cards and laughing with family and friends who will all miss her tremendously.
Goodbyes are not forever, goodbyes are not the end, they simply mean we will be missing you until we meet again.

Per Freda's wishes a visitation will be held at the MacMillan & Drapeau Chapel, Benjamin River on Thursday, April 03, 2024 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 7:00pm to 9:00pm. A funeral service is to follow at MacMillan & Drapeau Chapel, Benjamin River on Friday, April 04, 2024 at 11:00am. Funeral arrangements are in the care of MacMillan & Drapeau Funeral Home, Black Point.
