“Have courage and be kind”- The Cinderella story
She was kind and compassionate to all she met and showed great empathy for the sick, the elderly and the disadvantaged.
Despite her many health challenges and losing her mother at a very young age, she showed great strength and courage, never once complaining.
She worked most of her life in the medical field first as secretary to Dr. Ron Barriault. Then moved to the East Restigouche Community Health Care Centre as administrative assistant to Dr. Ed Wilkins. Finally, with Extra-Mural Hospital to the time of retirement.
She was an ardent volunteer and spent several years as a pastoral worker for the Dalhousie Nursing Home and the new facility Vila-Renaissance. Receiving in an award in 2009 as recognition for their outstanding contribution to the Dalhousie Nursing Home presented by the New Brunswick Association of Nursing Homes.
Alice’s faith in our savior Jesus Christ had brought her through many serious traumatic events however, her generosity of heart allowed her to give up her place at the Dalhousie dialysis clinic to others who needed it on more than 3 separate occasions.
Being silent and not needing any recognition was one of the very strong points that made Alice a great partner. As an example, she followed her husband to complete his education modules to become a deacon.
If she could give a message today she would say as Cinderella’s mother said to her: “Have courage and be kind”.
A funeral service will be held at the St. John Bosco Church, Dalhousie on Wednesday November 13th, 2024 at 11am. Funeral arrangements are in the care of MacMillan & Drapeau Funeral Home, Black Point.
