Brenda Nichol Obituary

Brenda Joyce Nichol, age 74, of Halifax Nova Scotia passed away on 28 January 2024 at the Halifax Infirmary.

 

Born in 1949 in Campbellton, New Brunswick, she was the daughter of Neil William ‘Bill’ Nichol and Joyce Margaret (Hamilton) Nichol. Living in Charlo N.B. Brenda graduated from Dalhousie High School in 1968. Married to John Robert William ‘Bob’ Ault from 1968 until 1980 she had 2 children; William Robert Neil ‘Neil’ Ault (5 May 1969) and John Marcus ‘Marc’ Ault (22 December 1971). 

 

Married to Darrell John Westerman from 1982 until 1995 Brenda remained close with her stepchildren Marjorie Westerman and Bradley Westerman. 

 

Brenda returned to school to earn a B.Sc./Nursing degree from Dalhousie University, Halifax N.S. in May 2001, working for 13 years as a Registered Nurse in Halifax, NS and Kelowna B.C. Brenda also started Porvida Foot Care in 2009, providing in-home foot care to seniors for more than five years. 

 

Brenda is missed by her sons William Robert Neil Ault (Kate) and John Marcus Ault (Julie), and grandchildren Liam Marcus Ault (b.2001), Luke Darryl Ault (b. 2004), Isaac Elijah Ault (b. 2005) and Ethan Samuel Ault (b.2007), her mother Joyce Nichol, sister Margaret Yeo (Fenton), brother-in-law Jim Oakes, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her cat Apollo. 

Brenda is preceded in death by her sister Barbara Oakes (1950 - 2013) and father Bill Nichol (1921 - 2016).

 

A Celebration of Life will be held at the MacMillan & Drapeau Chapel on Saturday May 4, 2024 at 11am. Arrangements are in the care of MacMillan & Drapeau Funeral Home, Black Point. 

A reception will be held at the Glen Bernie Hall after the service.

Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Richardson, attending physicians, nurses and staff at the Halifax Infirmary.
