It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the death of Cameron Dempsey, husband of Lois (Callaghan), which occurred at the Villa Renaissance in Dalhousie on December 7th at the age of 95.
Born and raised in Jacquet River, son of the late Michael and Pylina Dempsey.
Cameron is survived by his wife Lois, and children, David (Lisa) of Florida, Deborah David of Tennessee, Lori Ann Chalker (Steve) of Georgia, and adopted children Herman (Anita) of Nova Scotia and Patricia (Ashley) of Nova Scotia. He also has five grandchildren (Deanna, Mitchell, Jessica, Lauren and Andrew) as well as one great-grandchild (Emmett).
Besides his parents, Cameron was preceded by four brothers (Lyle, Harold, Lorenzo, and Murdoch) and three sisters (Caroline, Hazel, and Della).
Cammy’s love of horses resulted in him owning many in his early years. He dabbled in various jobs throughout his life from sales, mining, drilling and working in the woods, but retired after 22 enjoyable years of driving the school bus for the district.
He will be dearly missed by all who knew him and in our hearts forever.
The family would like to thank all the Doctors, Nurses and Staff that cared for Cameron in his final years.
