Claudette O'Brien

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Claudette O’Brien at the age of 77. She passed away peacefully at the Chaleur Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family. 

Born August 1st, 1947, Claudette could be described as someone with a heart of gold. She was always family oriented and thrived on visits from her kids and grandkids. We will miss her giggles, talking about her chickens and being called “little buggers” when doing something silly with her. 

Besides her children, Claudette loved her husband Alzear so much. They were the best of friends with a marriage everyone aspired to have. They were a match made in Heaven. 

Our beautiful Grandmere, we will miss you tremendously.

Claudette is the daughter of the late Arthur Lapointe and the late Greta Lapointe. She is survived by her husband Alzear; children Dean (Roslyn) of Bathurst, Jeffrey (Monique) of Quispamsis; grandchildren Travis, Sean (Sarah), Zachary (Kate), Jessica (Tristan), Tyler (Jada); great grandchildren Iris, Robyn, Leo, baby O’Brien on the way; siblings Colman (Sandra), Ronnie (Pat), Alva, Norma, her predeceased brother Alan (Linda), as well as many nieces and nephews. 

We would like to thank the staff of the St. John Regional Hospital as well as the Chaleur Regional Hospital for the care they gave Claudette. We are very grateful. 

A funeral service will be held at the St Gabriel's Church, Jacquet River, on October 21, 2025 at 2pm. Funeral arrangements are in the care of MacMillan & Drapeau Funeral Home, Black Point.
