Darrell Hickey

  Darrell Hickey 
January 14, 1964 - December 25, 2025 

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Darrell Hickey, which occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital at the age of 61. 

Darrell enjoyed his weekly drives with his dog sparky and watching bonanza each morning with his wife Karen. He often spent time with friends drinking cold alpines outside at his fire pit. When he didn’t have an alpine in hand, you could be sure he was having a cup of tea. One of the best parts of his day was FaceTiming with his grandson Henry. 

For the past 25 years Darrell got to live out his passion by working as an electrician for Levesque & McIntyre Electric with a great group of workers who he was fond of. 

He was the son of Urban Hickey and Opal (MacMillan) Hickey of Doyleville. He is survived by his wife Karen of 45 years, as well as his children Bruce (Morgan) of Fort McMurray and Natasha (Mike) and grandson Henry of Norton. Brothers Kevin (Karen) of Brantford and Rickey (Colleen) of Lorne. Sisters Wanda (Graham) of Doyleville, Holly of Belledune and Donna (Ken) of Doyleville. Sisters in law Carmella (Elric) of Lorne, Dorina (John) of Oromocto, and Nadine of Lorne. Brother in law Lucien (Wanda) of Lorne. Father in law Valmond of Lorne and several nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his parents Opal and Urban. Brothers Mackey, Beverly and Bruce. Sisters Sheila, Debbie, Heather, Phyllis, and Marie. Mother in law Sadie. Brother in law Mackey. Niece Jamie. Nephews Richard and Jason. 

There will be a celebration of life in Darrell’s honour at a later date.
