It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Smyth of Hammonds Plains, NS, which occurred suddenly on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at the age of 75. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late George and Nora (Kyte) Smyth.
David is survived by his loving wife Sharon (Cook) Smyth, son Stephen (Ha) of Ottawa, grandson Christopher and granddaughter Amanda of Toronto; brother Victor (Moira) of Vancouver; sister in law Nancy (Mike), nephew Brendan and niece Hanna;
brother in law Gary (Jan); sister in law Marilyn; as well as many more nieces, nephews, cousins, and the extended MacCormack family. He was predeceased by his parents and his brothers Francis Paul & Francis Coady.
David was loved by all those who knew him. He will be remembered for his unending kindness, generosity, and his wonderful sense of humour. David enjoyed boating, basketball, travelling, motor biking, and telling his favourite stories to all his friends and family.
A graveside service in New Mills will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements are in the care of MacMillan’s Funeral Home, Black Point.
