Deborah Ann (Splude) Malley
October 9, 1952 – October 5, 2025
It is with a sad and heavy heart that I announce the passing of my dear younger sister, Debbie, who peacefully left us on Sunday evening at the Campbellton Regional Hospital, surrounded by family and friends who love her dearly.
Debbie had a zest for life and loved to be surrounded by loved ones—the more the merrier. Many meals were shared at her house over the years with plenty of laughter, great food, and music blasting as we entered the house. Debbie sure loved to entertain. As time passed, life got busier for me, my children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews and our visits became less frequent. In hindsight, perhaps we didn’t realize the toll this had on her. Eventually, we gathered again—but this time, we were serving her in our homes.
Debbie loved taking care of others and attended to the health needs of several family members and friends. She also worked for Michaud Special Care Home and Foyer Rose St-Pierre for several years and also cared for the clients in their own homes. She loved her job, clients, and their families. Even after falling ill with cancer and having to retire, Debbie would still say, “I wish I could go back to work.”
Debbie leaves to mourn her beloved husband of fifty years Doug, daughter Amy, sister Linda (Aurele of Dieppe), our precious Aunt Louise Methot, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. She held a special place in her heart for her best friend Becky.
Debbie is predeceased by her parents Ray and Leona Splude and sisters Eileen and Patty.
I rarely called Debbie by her own name. We had an inside joke where I called her Madge—My Bridesmaid. We will love and miss you forever, Debbie. A special thanks to Doug for the devoted care and love he gave her throughout her illness.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Saint John Bosco Church, Dalhousie on October 14, 2025 at 11am. Interment at Sainte-Jean-Baptiste. Funeral arrangements are in the care of MacMillan & Drapeau Funeral Home.
