Della Doucett Obituary

 

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Della Doucett (Hickey) of Jacquet River, New Brunswick, on Saturday, December 31, 2022 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst, NB. 


Della was the daughter of the late Arthur and Yvonne Hickey of Jacquet River. She is survived by her beloved husband Rayburn Doucett, children Ryan Baker (Donna), Rhonda Baker Gordon (Steve), step-children Rick Doucett, and Ryan Doucett (Sheri). She is predeceased by her step-daughter Kim Doucett."
 

Her grandchildren are Shauna, Rhonda and Lindsay Baker; Thomas, Michael and John Gordon, great grandchild Austin Smith, and several step-grandchildren.

She is survived by her brothers and sisters Amanda (Celestin), Clarence, Gerald (Marie), Iona (Ed), Sheila (Don), and Gary (Kathy). She was predeceased by her sister Dot, and brothers Junior, Raymond, Gabe, and Clem.

In her early years, after moving back to Jacquet River from Toronto, she worked for Brunswick Mining and Smelting, then with Rayburn at Ray’s Furnitureland, and before retiring joined Century 21 Real Estate in Campbellton. She enjoyed spending time with family and her weekly bingo night with her sister Amanda.

Thank you to the many nurses, doctors and staff at the Chaleur Regional Hospital who cared for Della.

A graveside service will be held at the St. Gabriels Cemetery, Jacquet River on May 31, 2023 at 2pm. Arrangements are in the care of MacMillan’s Funeral Home.

For those who wish, donations in memory of Della can be made to Saint Gabriel’s Parish in Belledune (Jacquet River) or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
