Dorothy "Dot" (Harquail) Hamilton

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Dorothy (Dot) Hamilton on March 2nd, 2023 at age 84. Dot was born on October 11th, 1938 in Dalhousie to proud parents Clara and Napoleon Harquail. She had a loving and lasting marriage to Donald Hamilton.

Throughout her life, Mom was active in the community, at times serving on Dalhousie town council, life-time member of the Conservative Party, president of the Lioness, and member of the Catholic Women's League to name a few.

Mom was a devoted wife and mother. Mom was always there to help others, whether family or not. Her compassion was great and her faith strong. Her house was an open door to all and her dinner table had a seat for anyone hungry. Mom's favourite pastime was bingo, and she valued the many bingo friends she made over the years.

She is survived by daughters Cindy and Brenda; sons Bobby, Pat (wife Sophie) and Ernie; grandchildren Robbie, Seema, Danica, Selena and Tessa; loving great-grandchildren Ty, Max and Isabelle; sisters Bertha, Beatrice, Vivian, Bernadette and Karen; and brothers Buddy and Danny.

She will be dearly missed by us all and forever be in our hearts.

A funeral for Dot will be held on Tuesday, March 7th, 2023 at 2PM, at the St. John Bosco Chuch, Dalhousie, with visitation an hour before. A reception is to follow at the nearby Dalhousie Lion's Club, located at 410 Adelaide Street. Funeral arrangements are in the care of MacMillan's Funeral Home, Black Point.
