Obituary Eileen Esliger 

The family of Eileen Esliger wish to announce her passing at the age of 87, on October 16, 2022 at Hospice Fredericton after a lengthy illness. 

Born in Archibald Settlement on April 13, 1935, Eileen was the daughter of Charles Firlotte and Mary Ellen (Bernard) Firlotte. Eileen was predeceased by her husband Cyril Esliger , her daughter Beverly, and her granddaughter Bailey. She is survived by her remaining children; Randy (Marina), Jim (Melissa), and Robyn (Lindsay), and her grandchildren; Emily, Alex, Milena, Shelby and Sarah. 

Our mom had a kind heart, and a great sense of humour. She lived for her family, especially the grandchildren both near and far, and embraced the technology that would enable face-time visits with those far away, and the card games with those with whom she lived. The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the many family members, friends (who were like family), as well as the home care workers who enabled her to have the independence she so cherished, for as long as was possible. We also would like to send a special thank you to the extra mural teams in both Campbellton and Fredericton who were partners in her care, and the team at Hospice Fredericton, who provided the most amazing care for our mother during her final two months. They provided truly the gold standard for Palliative Care. 

At her request, there will not be any visitation. The funeral will be held Thursday, October 27th at 11 AM at St. Gabriel’s church, Jacquet River, NB with a reception to follow, after the service, at the Jacquet River Legion. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Hospice Fredericton (WWW.HospiceFredericton.ca) , or the charity of their choosing. Funeral arrangements are in the care of Macmillan Funeral Home in Black Point.
