Eileen Guitard

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our beautiful Mom, Eileen, on April 25th, 2023 at the age of 93 years and 10 months. Born in Jacquet River she was the daughter of the late Sanford and Edna (Hickey) Shannon. She was the wife of the late Jimmy Guitard (1969).

She is survived by her children David, Sandra (James), Eldon (Carmel), Brian, Debbie (Garry), and Jamie. Grandchildren Keith, Chris. Todd, Trevor, Tara, Holly, and Jenna. Great grandchildren Charlie, Abby, Lyla, Brandon, Jenika, Shyann, William and Jo. Siblings Peter, Paul (Pat), Andith (Joe), Raymond (Gertrude) and Florence (late Alvin). Also many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her beloved son Dale (our angel in heaven), Jean (Dave), Arnold (Antoinette), sister-in-law Claudette, nieces Ann, Cathy-Ann, and nephew Randy.

Our Mom had a great love for all animals, especially dogs, cats and horses. She was an excellent baker and cook and always had yummy treats and delicious meals for everyone to enjoy. She loved going for walks and to the beach to get rocks and shells and making beautiful framed pictures with them. She planted many pear and apple trees, from seeds, for her children.

We will cherish those bountiful trees forever. Mom, we love you so much for all the unconditional love, care, and kindness you gave us. Thank you for being the best mother in the world , and never asking for anything in return.

She worked at the Marysville Cotton Mill, as a young lady, and told us many stories of her time there.

We would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the Campbellton Regional Hospital, for the excellent care she was given while she was a patient there.

A family graveside service will be held at the St Gabriel's Cemetery , Jacquet River on May 18, 2023 at 2pm. Donations can be made to the S.P.C.A. in memory of Eileen, would be appreciated by the family. Funeral arrangements are in the care of MacMillan’s Funeral Home, Black Point.
