In Loving Memory of Eric Godin
January 22nd, 1958 - April 1st, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and immense tears that we announce the passing of Eric Godin.
A dear partner, father and grandfather who passed away suddenly, but peacefully at his home on April 1st, 2026.
Beloved partner of over 50 years to Ines Godin. Loving Father of Timmy, Tammy (Scott), and Penny (Chris). With his huge heart, Eric also gained himself a couple of bonus children that he loved like his own, his Goddaughter Jamie Hickey and Stephan Hickey. He was a very proud Grampy/Pa to Mia, Madelyn, Cassidy, Abigail, Brooklyn, Avery, Audrey, Dominic, and Carly who will always remember how fiercely he loved them. They were his world! He was also, very much, looking forward to welcoming his first grand baby this coming May. He also had a special place in his heart for his two grandchildren by choice, his two neighbours, Raphael and Randy.
He is also survived by one sibling, his sister Albertine and many nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins, and friends. We would also like to mention a few very important people in Eric’s life.. his very special aunt of 97 years Zita, and his very special friend’s of many years and memories Rickey and Evelyne, Sandra, Leon, Angus, Gerald, Alphie, Donnie, Weldon, and Jonathan! Oh and we can't forget his golden girls from Fredericton Heather, Pat and Sheila.
He was predeceased by his parents Emile and Annie, infant sister Peggy, and many aunts, uncles, and special friends, specifically, Ivan and Lenny.
Eric was a lumberjack who was born and raised in Lorne. He was proud of the home he built with his partner Ines. In his words “it's not much but, it's ours!” As much as he loved being a dad to his kids, his greatest pride were his grandkids. Nothing brought him more joy. His most loved place to be was home in Lorne, where he built so many cherished friendships and brotherhoods over the years. His passions were nature, hunting, fishing, taking drives in the woods, picking berries, gardening, digging clams, picking fiddleheads with his son Timmy and playing cards. He also enjoyed having a good lunch with a cup of tea.
He was notorious for story telling and crazy sayings of which there were many. We will miss it all!
‘If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever”
Mom, Timmy, Tammy, and I (Penny) will miss you and love you until we meet again. For the last time dad: “Love you, miss you, be safe, talk to you later, over and out”. ❤️
