Anna Evangeline Lavigne
October 09, 1931 - October 16, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce of passing of Anna Lavigne of Lorne at the age of 94 at the Saint John Regional Hospital on October 16, 2025, wife of Alexander Lavigne for 75 years. Anna was the daughter of Joseph Mallaley and Evangeline (LaPointe) Mallaley.
Anna known as Mammy to everyone lived a long and very vibrant life right to the end. She was still making big batches of homemade bread, which she did just two weeks before. Mammy loved playing cards, Knitting (but hadn’t in the last few years because of her hands), she sewed and besides bread she loved baking pies, cakes, and many more yummy sweets.
Anna leaves behind her husband Alex, her nine children; Gerald (Yvonne), Dedine, Jean-Marie (Simonne), Sylvie (Adrien) Hickey, Glenda (Victor) Moriarity, Joanne (Simon), Steve, Lise, and Kim. Her 13 grandchildren, her 25 great grandchildren. 4 great great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her Brothers; Andy (Roslyn), Allen (Connie), and Evans (Cindy), her sister Darlene and in-laws Jean, Edna, Donnie, Joyce (Antoine), and Leona, many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her son Allen, infant daughter Lorette, grandson Joey, son-in-law Dennis, brothers; Ernest, Ralph and Angus and sisters; Cecile, Sylvia, and Ernestine.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Saint John Regional Hospital for their wonderful care, we are deeply grateful.
A funeral service will be held at St Gabriels Church, Jacquet River on October 30th 2025 at 2pm. Funeral arrangements are in the care of MacMillan & Drapeau Funeral Home, Black Point.
