Faye MacNair Obituary

‘Faye’ Mary Elizabeth MacNair (née MacKinnon)

(1938-2026)

With sadness, the family announces the passing of Faye MacNair of Charlo, New Brunswick, who passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on January 30th, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on May 17th, 1938, in Escuminac, Québec, she was the daughter of the late Amon MacKinnon and Helen MacKinnon (née Young), and the beloved wife of the late Carl MacNair.

Faye is survived by her daughter, Judy (Vernon) Diotte of Eel River Crossing, NB; her son, David (Julie) MacNair of Moncton, NB; her brother, Gale (Veronica) MacKinnon of Val d’Amour, NB; her sister, Elaine (Jack) Target of Moncton, NB; and her brotherinlaw, James (late Marsha) MacNair of Cadillac, QC. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Kristofer Vautour (Teffany Gallie) of Dalhousie, NB, Matthew Vautour of Fredericton, NB, Brittney MacNair of Charlo, NB, and Ashley MacNair of Charlo, NB; as well as her greatgrandson Thomas Leblanc and greatgranddaughter Kassidy Gallie. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss her dearly.

Besides her parents and her husband, Carl, of 66 years, she was predeceased by her son Timothy; her daughter Wendy; her sister Charlotte (Howard) Scott; her brothers Junior (late Sheila) MacKinnon, Teddy (late Margaret) MacKinnon, and Jackie MacKinnon; and her brother-in-law Raymond (late Irma) MacNair.

In her early years as a practical nurse, she cared for others with the same quiet dedication that defined every part of her life. Her greatest joy was found in her flower gardens, where she nurtured beauty with the same care and patience she offered to everyone around her. Each season brought new blooms, and she tended them with a devotion that reflected her gentle spirit.

She was a longtime and faithful member of St. John’s Presbyterian Church, Dalhousie, New Brunswick, where she shared her love of faith and learning through many years of teaching Sunday School. Her lessons, kindness, and steady presence shaped countless young lives and left an enduring imprint on her church community.

She was also a proud and dedicated member of the Goforth Missionary Society and the Ladies Orange Benevolent Association, where she formed lasting friendships and contributed wholeheartedly to the work and fellowship of the organizations.

The MacNair and MacKinnon families extend their heartfelt gratitude to the medical team and staff of the Campbellton Regional Hospital for the professional and compassionate care provided to their mother and sister.

A combined service honouring both Faye and her late husband, Carl, will be held at St. John’s Presbyterian Church in Dalhousie, NB, during the summer, with interment to follow at the Dalhousie Riverview Cemetery, Extension of New Mills, NB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

Funeral arrangements are in the care of MacMillan & Drapeau Funeral Home, Black Point.
