Born in Port Alfred, Quebec, he was the son of the late Edmond Lapointe and Maria Lapierre. He was the loving husband of the late Theresa Vienneau, who passed away in 2019. They shared 69 wonderful years together.
Guy is survived by his children, Bobby (Laurie) and Diane (Jean-Yves); his grandchildren, Sean, Melanie, and Joey; and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Gertrude (Melvin) and Theresa. Guy was predeceased by his daughter, Kathleen; his grandson, Daniel; and his siblings, Donat, Leo, Eva, Juliette, Yvon, Yolande, Raymond, and Lauraine.
Guy dedicated 42 years of his career to the Dalhousie Papermill. During his time at the mill, he played a significant role in rebuilding paper machines 1 and 2, developing user manuals, and teaching employees how to operate the machines.
After retirement, Guy enjoyed traveling with his beloved wife, golfing, cross-country skiing, skating, and staying active.
A funeral mass will be held at Saint John Bosco Church, Dalhousie, on Thursday December 19, 2024 at 2pm. Funeral arrangements are in the care of MacMillan & Drapeau Funeral Home, Black Point.
