It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Helen MacCurdy, wife of the late Lindsay MacCurdy, of Moncton who passed away at the Moncton City Hospital on February 28, 2023 at the age of 93. Born in Seaside, the daughter of the late Alpheus A. and Elsie (Dickie) Ward.
Helen moved to Moncton in the early 50’s but always called the “North Shore” home. She was known for her kindness and generosity. She enjoyed her Toronto Maple Leafs and was an avid fan of the Moncton Hawks. She spent many summers at the cottage often taking part in a friendly competition of skipping stones on the Bay of Chaleur.
She is survived by her children George of Moncton, Ruth (Stephen) of Seaside and Joan (Kevin) of Charlo; grand children Erin (Andy), Craig (Robin) and proud great Grammie to Wesley, Ada, Remi and Thea.
Besides her parents and husband Lindsay, Helen was predeceased by her siblings Allan, Leslie, Gordon, Wendell, Gladys, Hilda, Muriel and twin sister Velma.
Her graveside service will be held at the New Mills Cemetery on June 11, 2023 at 1pm. Arrangements are in the care of MacMillan’s Funeral Home, Black Point.
