Henry “Gus” Augustin Guitard
1932 – 2021

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Henry A. Guitard, husband of Anna (McAllister) of South Esk, NB, at his residence on Wednesday August 4th, 2021 at the age of 89. Born in Archibald, NB, he was the son of the late Paul and Mary (Murphy) Guitard.

Henry Augustin served in the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1952 to 1977. He was a casual school bus driver in the Miramichi area, and coached minor hockey for a period of time.

Gus was an avid hockey fan, especially the Miramichi Timberwolves, and made an effort to attend every game. He was a great storyteller, loved fishing, camping and never missed a chance to pick fresh berries or go for a stroll in the great outdoors. He was also an avid race car helper especially for #55.

He was predeceased by his parents, his brothers: Lindsay and Allison Guitard and his sister-in-law: Emily Guitard.

Besides his wife Anna, Gus is survived by his daughter: Gina Guitard of Miramichi, NB; his son: Garet Guitard of Saskatoon, SK; his grandson: Keenan Crocker of Fort McMurray, AB, and granddaughter: Aidan Crocker of Miramichi, NB; his great-grandchildren: Thia Crocker and Jack McCafferty of Miramichi, NB. He is also survived by several sisters and brothers-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.

A private graveside will be held on Monday, August 9, 2021 at Miramichi Cemetery – Old King George Hwy, with Father Dan Melanson officiating.
