Isabelle passed away peacefully at the Campbellton Regional Hospital in the early morning hours, January 2, 2026 in her 94th year. She was born in the Belledune Area to Joseph and Emma Guitard. She was the last surviving member of her family. Isabelle always wore a smile on her face and her strength was a testimony that she lived her life to the fullest.
Caring for others always came first to Isabelle. Her first priority when you visited her home was to made sure you were well fed and while you were eating her delicious food she wanted to hear about what was going on in your life. She was famous for her Rabbit Bullion Stew, Raisin Pie and Joe Louis cookies.
A devoted Catholic, Saturday evenings you would see her and Clifford sitting in their truck in the church parking lot waiting for the doors to the church to be unlocked usually an hour before mass started.
Always armed with a flyswatter in hand, Isabelle loved playing TV Bingo, working in her garden, taking trips to the Colony to pick blueberries with Clifford and taking part in the activities during Belledune Days. The fireworks were her favorite part and brought her so much joy being able to watch them from her yard. In the winter, she passed the time by playing cards, crossword puzzles and knitting. She has supplied her family with enough slippers to last them a lifetime.
She is survived by her children Camille (Marlene) of Belledune, Rosemarie (Eric) of Charlo, Yvon (Debbie) of Belledune, and Jean-Paul (Dawn Marie) Of Oshawa On., her 10 grandchildren and 15 great grand-children that were her pride and joy, as well as her many nieces and nephews.
Isabelle is predeceased by her loving husband Clifford, her devoted daughter Theresa (Allen) and her infant son Romeo, as well as her parents Joseph and Emma and siblings Aurel, Vilda, and Zoel.
Her family would like to thank Darlington Mannor for the many years of wonderful care that she received while she was a resident there as well as the staff on the 3 rd and 4 th floor at Campbellton Regional Hospital where she spent her last months.
A funeral mass will be held at St John’s the Evangelist Church Belledune, on Monday June 22, 2026 at 11:00 AM followed by burial and a reception in the church hall. Funeral arrangements are in the care of MacMillan & Drapeau Funeral Home, Black Point.
