Jacqueline Guitar Obituary
After a life very well lived our dear mother, grandmother and great grandmother Jacqueline Elizabeth Marion Guitar passed peacefully at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on June 21, 2025 at the age of 94. She was the daughter of late Joseph and Mary Doucet.
Jackie is survived by her children Danny, Timmy, Jay (Sandy), Gary (Kim), her cherished grandchildren Ellen, Lauren, Trevor, Jillian, Madison and Jorja and great grandchildren Lorelei, Matthew, Henry, Rowan, Winnie and Chase, along with nieces, nephews and special friends.
Jackie was predeceased by her loving husband Gerry, beloved daughter Joyce, granddaughter Megan Joyce and daughter-in-law Penny. She was the last surviving member of her family.
Jackie lived her life to the fullest. She cherished her time with family and friends. Her willingness to try anything kept her young and inspired her family. She loved being outside, daily walks, especially on the beach, collecting sea glass, reading, playing cards, and watching hockey and curling with her family. She had a huge heart and was willing to help anyone in need. Her outgoing personality and involvement in the community created lasting friendships which carried on throughout her life. Her wit and spicy personality will be remembered by many, especially her family.
Jacqueline was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Catholic Women’s League and Royal Canadian Legion.
Special thanks to dear friends and neighbours whose kindness allowed Jackie to remain in her home as long as possible. Deep gratitude and appreciation to the staff of Darlington Manor. Their exceptional kindness and compassion will never be forgotten. Thank you to the Campbellton Hospital Palliative Care staff who were so kind to our mother in her final hours.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to MacMillan-Drapeau Funeral Home in Black Point and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Gabriel's Church, Jacquet River on September 26th, 2025 at 1pm with a reception to follow at the Royal Canadian Legion. Memorial donations can be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
