It is with heavy hearts that we the family of Jacques Guitard of Beresford announce he has passed away peacefully at the Chaleur Regional Hospital surrounded by his loving family on October 16, 2025 at the age of 73.
He was predeceased by his wife, Sylvie Aubin of Montréal.
Born January 7, 1952 in Kedgwick, he was the son of the late Gerald Guitard and the late Cecile Comeau.
He is survived by his son Johnny (Micheline) of Kedgwick; his granddaughter Samantha; his sisters Jacqueline (Dalton) of Beresford, Diane (Martin) of Petit-Rocher, Barbara (Allison) of Petit-Rocher; his brother Stanley (Dorette) of Petit-Rocher; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A hardworking man through and through, Jacques spent his life up on the roofs, as he had his own roofing company for many years which he enjoyed immensely.
He loved nothing more than casting a line and spending a quiet day fishing. He found joy in the simple things — a good catch, a ride on the side-by-side, and the loyal company of his dog, Lucky, by his side.
Jacques will be remembered for his big heart, kindness, good humour, stories and love for the outdoors. Also, he’s favourite saying “yes, yes, yes”. He will be missed deeply by all who knew him.
We would like to thank the staff of the palliative care at the Chaleur Regional Hospital for the care and the kindness they gave Jacques. We are very grateful.
In accordance with his wishes, there will be no funeral services. Arrangements are in the care of MacMillan & Drapeau Funeral Home, Black Point.
