MacMillan, Jean Annie Catherine

Our lovely mother passed away on September 23, 2019 at the age of 96. Born in Smith’s Cove, she was the daughter of the late George and Barbara (Banks) Weir. Mum was a lifelong member and honorary pianist at the Eastern Star. She was a church organist and choir director for 60+ years. Mum loved all types of music, music was her life. She also enjoyed reading, travel, baking, bowling and had a special love for animals, especially her cats. Our mum was smart, witty, compassionate, gracious and kind, we feel so blessed to have had her in our lives. Mum will be deeply missed by her children, daughter, Barb Woolnough; stepdaughter, Carolyn (Doug) Doiron; sons, Bill Olsen, Rick Olsen (Bev Lewis); stepson, Jim (Gwen) MacMillan; grandchildren, Jessica, Jo, Shane; step grandchildren, Katriana, Chris, Kim, Susan, Anika; 6 great-grandchildren; niece, Joan and nephew, Bob.. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Herman Olsen as well as her second husband, Lloyd MacMillan; her brothers, Bob and Ted Weir and son in law Van Woolnough. Cremation has taken place under the care of Jayne’s Funeral Home, Digby 245-2525. Funeral service will be held at the Digby Baptist Church on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at 2pm, Rev.
