Leona Lavigne

The death of Leona Lavigne occurred peacefully at the Sunrise Manor in Dalhousie on January 10, 2026 at the age of 78. She was the daughter of the late Frank Lavigne and Theresa (Carrier) Lavigne.

She is survived by her children; Shawna and Edgar, brother Alex, sister Joyce (Antoine), three grandchildren and sister in law Hazel Lavigne as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by spouse Lionel Grimes of 40 years, her sons; Hank and AJ, brothers; Murray, Norman, Leo, Delphis, son in-law Bob, sister Doris, sister in laws; Winnie, Cecile, and Anna.

Special thanks to Sunrise Manor and to my friend Simmey for helping me with every visit and outing as well as special thanks to Barbara Munroe for her everything she did, for my sister Leona.
