Margery (Johnson) Babin
November 6, 1937 – February 2, 2023
A life well-loved, until her 85th year,
Mom, Wife, Nana, Friend were the roles she held dear.
Raised in the Junction, then moved into town,
To build a home with Lloyd and then hunker down.
Kevin, Sheila, and Elayne were blessed with this great mother,
A role she adopted with many another.
Sometimes caught dancing in the kitchen with loving hands kneading bread,
Happiest with a full house, she ensured everyone was well-fed.
Plenty of space at the table, there’s always room for more,
Inviting extra guests to come in the side door.
To more than just her own, mothering was what she did best,
Ensuring her loved ones were warm, happy, and full – only then she could rest.
Caring for her brothers from an early start,
She loved, tended, and worried as a matriarch.
Gordon, Sterling and Raymond would always make her laugh,
She would conveniently hide when it was time for a photograph.
Sundays were special, she enjoyed sitting in a pew,
With friends who were more like family; they were far from few.
Brandon, Sara, Jayme, Krystal – her grandchildren made her proud,
She let them get away with more than usually allowed.
Smiling when hearing little feet come through the door,
“Granana” was loved by four little more.
Everett, Milena, Ruby, and Willow loved coming to see
The woman whose life’s work was building a family legacy.
She was infinitely loved, appreciated beyond words,
Her memory will stay, her voice even heard.
Her body grew tired, she held Lloyd’s hand one last time,
Now she’s Home with Nelly and Frank, telling everyone “I’m fine”.
Her funeral will be held from St. John's Presbyterian Church in Dalhousie Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 2 PM.
Arrangements are in the care of MacMillan’s Funeral Home, Black Point.
