Maxwell “Mackey” Joseph Carrier born December 9th, 1963, departed life on the afternoon of December 7th, 2023 at the age of 59. He lived by His father Valmond Carrier, and was preceded in death by his mother Sadie Carrier. He also lived by his spouse, the love of his life Nadine, and father to his girls Vanessa and Krystal, whom he was incredibly proud of. Also brother to his siblings Carmella, Dorina, Lucien, and Karen.
Maxwell left behind a great community of loved ones, was adored by many and returned the love to everyone he knew. He joined the Lorne Fire Department in 1988 and shortly after became chief until the day of his passing. Maxwell worked many jobs throughout his life beginning at the age of 11, to work in the woods with the men in his family family. Jobs ranged from construction to power plants, to his most recent job at the Renaissance Nursing Home, where he worked for almost a decade.
Maxwell had many hobbies such as fishing, clam digging, cooking, playing guitar, working with his Saw Mill and so much more. His music was one of a kind and so was his homemade pizza concoctions. He was a big fan of watching YouTube after work, whiskey, and his very carnivorous diet! Burgers and Moose meat were on rotation in his kitchen! He ‘tormented’ the people he loved, and his little acts of service are how he showed you he cared. Maxwell tried to see the best in everyone and will leave an impact on an incredible amount of people. Maxwell loved Christmas, not for the food and gifts but because his entire family was together. An amazingly family-oriented man, and would do anything to make sure the people he loved were well taken care of. He was considered his father’s main caregiver and did everything to make sure Valmond was stress-free, he even called after every bingo to see how he did. He will be missed forever, even by his cats Duke and Zeus who still wait for him at the door to this day. xo
Ps. his daughter Krystal wrote this and she knows he LOVED being bragged about. Have a cheeseburger tonight in his honour! Cheers to Dad
