Myles Gerald Lavigne Obituary

In loving memory of Myles Gerald Lavigne, who passed away on September 13, 2022.

Born in Lorne April 11, 1955, He was the devoted husband of Bernadette for 47 years.  The story goes that he stole her out of the crib.  Myles was Bernadette’s one and only love.   Myles and Bernadette were Married March 15, 1975 when they were expecting their first born son Josh.  Their love story was sometimes hard but they were definitely devoted to each other and the true love never ended.

Myles was the father of Joshua (Tracy) of Shediac NB.  Joshua and Myles share the love of food.  He was known to tell Josh he was always able to find the buffet.  They also share the trait of being a very loyal husband.  In marriage we all may have had our challenges, our stumbles and our disagreements, but as long as we loved one another, nothing else mattered.

Myles was the father of his second born Jeremy (Courtney) of Dieppe, NB.   Myles and Jeremy shared the love of Hockey, Myles was a hockey coach and manager for many years and shared his knowledge of skills and passion for the sport with the children.  He was a loyal fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs.  Jeremy and Myles share the competitive nature and the love to win.  Myles spent many years in cold skating arenas taking around his boy Jeremy hoping that one day maybe Jeremy could help those Maple Leafs win a Cup.  Unfortunately for the Maple Leafs, Jeremy went on to a career in Corrections.  Most recently Jeremy spent time with is dad helping him around the home in Lorne getting the winter wood ready and still watching those Maple Leafs trying to win a cup.

He was not a soft father, but he thought us to have respect for our mother and the value of working hard and taking care of ourselves.  Early in his life, our father learned the importance of hard work being married at such a young age and he instilled that same work ethic in us.  He was always there for us.  He taught us the importance of family, hard work and doing what is right.

Myles became a soft Teddy bear when he became a grandpere to his favourite boy Will on February 6, 2003.  Every single chance that Grammie and Grandpere could take Will, his suitcase was packed up and going to the beach to fish mackerel or bass with grandpere on the boat or off the side of the beach.  When Will was a baby they also took many naps together as we all know Myles loved his naps.  The unconditional love he had for Will is never going to be forgotten.  He would have given Will anything he ever wanted.

Myles left behind a sister Nicole (Hector) Bertin, brother Stanley (Dianna) Lavigne, and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his Maman Barbara Lavigne.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He was known to often say “Machine up the road and riggin de mame”.

We mourn the loss of our father, husband and grandpere and encourage any and all who knew him to remember that he is at peace but he will live on forever in our hearts.

We love you so much.  Rest in peace.
