Myrtle Henry Obituary

Myrtle Alice Henry, a much-loved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many, passed away suddenly at her home on April 27th, 2024. Born on July 10th, 1933 in Jacquet River, Myrtle was predeceased by her parents John  Frederic and Mary Ellen (nee Furlotte) Laviolette.

Myrtle is survived by her two loving sons Alan and Brian; grandchildren Timothy (Mother; Ewa Henry-Dawson) and Sarah (Mother; April Lloyd); brother John; sister Bernadette; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

Preceding Myrtle in death was her husband Eugene Henry; brothers William, Norbert, and James; sisters Gladys, Derilda, Maizie, Charlotte, Shirley, and May. Their memories live on through the stories shared by Myrtle's loved ones.

A life of service, Myrtle dedicated many years to caring for others in nursing in Sackville and Toronto, later transitioning into teaching at a special needs school back home in Jacquet River. In retirement, Myrtle took on the role of caregiver for many of her family young and old, down the lane. In addition to being an exceptional caregiver, Myrtle had a passion for fashion that was unmatched (she LOVED to shop).

Those who knew Myrtle understood that she was outspoken with a straightforward nature that often left people laughing at the sharp wit she effortlessly exuded.

A devoted Catholic all her life, faith played an integral role in shaping Myrtle's character. Her unwavering belief served as a guiding light through both joyful moments and challenging times alike.

A funeral service celebrating Myrtle's life will be held at St. Gabriels Church, Jacquet River, Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at 11 am.
