Opal Margret (Hickey) LaPointe

It is with broken hearts that we announce the death of our dear mother, Opal Margret (Hickey) Lapointe of Lorne who passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on March 10th, 2023 at the age of 80. Born in Lorne, the 13th of 14 children born to Vincent and Mary Jane (Carrier) Hickey. 

 Opal is survived by her children Marvin (Sandra), Albert (Mary Jane) and Emilie (Ovila); grand children Joey, Melanie, Angus, Scott and Jesse; great grand children who she constantly spoke lovingly of Kaitlyn, Alexander, Tyson, Aaliyah, Madison, Rogan, Charlie and Myles as well as her sister Rita Godin. 

 Besides her parents and her husband Rudolph “Duff”, she was predeceased by their infant daughter Emilie and 12 of her siblings. 

  She lived a quiet, no nonsense, simple life and had a love for music and birds. 

   Until we meet again, rest easy Mom. We love you.

 Her graveside service will be held at the St. Maria Goretti Cemetery, Lorne on May 26th at 2pm. Arrangements are in the care of MacMillan’s Funeral Home, Black Point.
