Penny Palmater Obituary

Mary Karen Penny Palmater

In loving memory of Penny Palmater who passed away peacefully at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on June 25, 2021 at the age of 71.

Born in Dalhousie, she was the daughter of the late Guy and Pearl (Foster) Palmater.

Penny spent the majority of her life in Dalhousie and was acknowledged in many Bon Ami parade's as Dalhousie's favourite bar tender. Music fans in Dalhousie know Penny never passed up an opportunity to sing, particularly her beloved Patsy Cline songs. She also very much enjoyed writing songs and poems of her own. Penny was a kind soul who experienced true joy from spending time with her friends and family. She never held a grudge and was always quick with a smile. She had so many lifelong friends, whom she loved deeply. You never had to twist Penny's arm to play a game of Tock or to enjoy a bowl of her Mother in law's "Seapie". Penny spent the last 30 years of her life with her partner Yolande. The two of them enjoyed many adventures together. Although illness slowed Penny down in her final years, to the very end she laughed easily and had nothing but kindness for the people around her.  She will be deeply missed, but she will live on in the joyful stories of remembrance shared by those she left behind.

Penny is survived by her life partner Yolande Gendron; siblings Sidney, (Ginette) of Point La Nim, Guy (Donna) of Charlo, Sharron Humphrey (Bill) of Point La Nim, Candy (Denise Tompkins) of Toronto; sister in law Aloyse (Point La Nim/New Waterford), half sister Shelley Coulombe (Terry) of Dalhousie as well as several nieces and nephews and many many friends and family.  She is predeceased by her parents as well as brothers Bruce and Billy and her nephews Jeremy and Jonathan.
Due to Covid restrictions there will be no service at this time. A graveside service at the St. John Bosco Cemetery will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements are in the care of MacMillan’s Funeral Home, Black Point.
