Romain Richard

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Romain Arthur Richard at the age of 72 at Bathurst Regional Hospital on June 24, 2025. Born April 21, 1953, he was the youngest child of 18 children to the late Arthur and Elizabeth Richard. 

Along with his parents he was predeceased by 15 siblings and his beloved son J.R.

Romain shared nearly 47 years of marriage with his beloved wife Sharon, and together they built a life full of love, laughter, and music. 

He is survived by his wife Sharon, sons Greg & Scott and his daughter Brandy. He leaves behind his grandchildren Mia, Riley, Mykyla, Emma, Marley, Timmy, Ethan, Isabella, Carson, Jackson, and great grandchild Ivy, also leaving to mourn his sister Dorothy and his brother Albert. 

Romain was an employee of Belledune Fertilization and Smelter for 47 years and along the way he performed entertainment by singing and playing music for charity. 

Romain faced his cancer diagnosis with courage and determination. He has the strength to make it look easy as his body was fading away in front of us with no complaints, because of his disease in lieu of flowers the family would prefer donations to go to the cancer society. 

There will be a celebration of life on July 02, 2025 at MacMillan & Drapeau Chapel in Benjamin from 6pm-9pm. Funeral arrangements are in the care of MacMillan & Drapeau Funeral Home, Black Point.
