Ronald "Ronnie" Hickey

The death of Ronald “Ronnie” Hickey of Doyleville occurred at the Bathurst Regional Hospital on August 28, 2022 at the age of 69. Born in Nash Creek, he was the son of the late Oliver and Gertrude (Lapointe) Hickey. 

    Ronnie is survived by his wife Susan McGregor; children Tracy, Ashley (Joshua), Robyn (Gregory), Kassandra and Ally; grandchildren Hannah, Hayden, Hudson, Benjamin and Henry; his siblings Jocelyn (Charles), Phillip (Lorraine), Greg (Lynn) and Michael (Iva), Adrian (Diane), as well as many nieces and nephews. 

   Besides his parents, Ronnie was predeceased by his sister Mary-Stella, brother in law Ray, and brother Eric. 

   Ronnie was an underground miner from age of 16. He was well known for his craftsmanship and spent many years perfecting his skills of knife making and rebuilding cars. He was also known for his long-running jokes and contagious laugh. 

   He will be dearly missed by everyone. 

 To pay tribute to Ronnie, please join us on Thursday, September 1st, at 12:00pm, in the parking lot of the former Nash Creek church as we join together for Ronnie's last ride. If you have an antique/classic/sports car, please bring them as he would love to hear those engines roar. A celebration of life will immediately follow at his residence in Doyleville.
