Rose Marie Coulombe Obituary

It is with a very heavy heart the family of Rose Marie (Parker) Coulombe announces her passing at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on Friday, April 28, 2023 at the age of 85. She was born on August 16, 1937 to the late Edmund and Eva (Goulette) Parker in Campbellton NB.

She will always be remembered as the most kind, loving, sweet lady with a smile that brightened any room the moment she walked in. Rose could always be found in her kitchen doing three of her favourite things: reading, crafting and cooking/baking. Mom also loved to read, anything from a good mystery novel to a romance novel.

Mom was an avid crafter which she would sometimes do along with her children and grandchildren. She loved to cross-stitch and do needle point, but two of her most favourite crafts (and ours too) were making custom photo albums for family and friends and working with plastic canvas. Her work was meticulous, made with love, thoughtful and beautiful...these beautiful pieces of Nanny’s work will be cherished forever...from Barbie doll furniture, photo albums to pumpkin baskets. The love in each piece will always be felt.

Mom was the best cook and baker in the world, well maybe in Canada!! She was known for her Coconut Cream and Lemon Meringue Pies for which she did not only make for her family, but for a lot of friends and friends of friends. She always had something freshly baked on the kitchen counter from a variety of cookies to Queen Elizabeth Squares. On Christmas Eve we all couldn’t wait to gather as a family for gift exchanges, games, snacks and to spoon into her six pates (cipate) pie (sometimes with wild meat...private joke). After that meal we were all so full but not just from the food but with the love that she put in the food she made for us.

Mom’s most favourite pastime was playing cards with family and friends. She loved playing Joker Rummy and when there were large gatherings of family and friends she loved to take her change purse out with her winnings from playing “Pass the Ace” or “Left, Right or Center”.

Mom is survived by her children Brian (Rita) of Moncton, Ricky (Susan) of Dalhousie, Rachel (Jean Paul) of Dalhousie, Eddy (Toni) of Mountain Brook and Terry (Shelley) of Dalhousie. She is also survived by her four beautiful grandchildren who were her pride and joy. Jason (Cara) of Dalhousie, Stephen (Kamille) of Grande Prairie AB, Lori (Phil) of Dieppe and Geoff (Ashley) of Fredericton, her great grandchildren and by her baby sister Rachel Poirier of Mississauga ON. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.

Rose was predeceased by her parents the late Edmund and Eva (Goulette) Parker in Campbellton NB. She was predeceased by her siblings Eva, Gertrude, Everett, Magella, Lionel, Maurice and Elmer (Joe).

Much thanks and love is being sent to the staff of the Palliative Care at the Campbellton Regional, they went out of their way to ensure Mom/Nanny was comfortable on her last journey.

Donations in memory of Rose may be made to a charity of your choice.
