C’est avec une grande tristesse que la famille de Simon Laplante de Dieppe, NB, époux de feu Martha Hynes, vous annonce son décès le 8 mai 2024 à l’hôpital George Dumont à l’âge de 84 ans. Né à Belledune, il était le fils de feu Stanislas et de feu Eléonord (Comeau) Laplante.

Il fut prédécédé par ses frères et sœurs : Norman, Anselme, Théophile, Isabelle, Clarice et Adelia; et par son fils Romeo Laplante.

Il laisse dans le deuil ses enfants Claude, Edgar, Jean Marc, et Stéphane, ainsi que plusieurs nièces, neveux et amis; ainsi que la famille Pinet (Wanda et Marcel et leurs enfants).

Ses passe-temps préférés étaient de jouer aux cartes, d'écouter de la musique country, jouer la guitare et voyager (en camper). Simon étais charpentier autonome de métier et a construit plusieurs maisons et maintes  projets de charpente pour les gens habitant dans la région. Il aimait beaucoup participer dans des célébrations familiales.

Des dons peuvent être faits à un organisme de bienfaisance de votre choix à la mémoire de

M Laplante.

Les funérailles auront lieu le 11 juin 2024 à 11 heures à l’église St-Jean l'Évangéliste de Belledune et seront célébrées par le Père Anthony. Les arrangements funèbres ont été confiés aux soins du Salon Funéraire Macmillan de Black Point.

It is with great sadness that the family of Simon Laplante of Dieppe, NB, husband of the late Martha Hynes, announces his death on May 8, 2024 at the George Dumont Hospital at the age of 84. Born in Belledune, he was the son of the late Stanislas and the late Eléonord (Comeau) Laplante.

He was predeceased by his brothers and sisters: Norman, Anselme, Théophile, Isabelle, Clarice and Adelia; and by his son Romeo Laplante. He leaves to mourn his children Claude, Edgar, Jean Marc, and Stéphane, as well as several nieces, nephews and friends; as well as the Pinet family (Wanda and Marcel and their children).

His favorite hobbies were playing cards, listening to country music, playing the guitar and traveling (camping).

Simon was a self-employed carpenter by trade and built several houses and many framing projects for people living in the region. He really enjoyed participating in family celebrations. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice in memory of M Laplante.

The funeral will take place on June 11, 2024 at 11 a.m. at St-Jean the Evangelist Church in Belledune and will be celebrated by Father Anthony. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Macmillan Funeral Home, Black Point.
