Tammy Furlotte Obituary

Tammy Furlotte of Belledune passed away peacefully at the Chaleur Regional Hospital Bathurst on January 27, 2021 at the age of 50. Born in Dalhousie, Tammy grew up in Nash Creek and eventually, Jacquet River. She is the daughter of James and June (Carrier) Furlotte.

Tammy is survived by her partner Keith Smearer; children Carly Godin (Derrick) of Centerville, NB; William Furlotte of Belledune, NB; Grand Baby Godin, who’s due to make their appearance in June; parents James and June Furlotte of Noel Settlement; siblings Susan (Ricky) of Archibald, NB and  Randy (Kari) of Wainwright, AB; in-laws James and Sandra Smearer of Belledune; sister-in-law Tara Smearer; brother-in-laws Todd and Trevor Smearer; nephews Brandon, Zackary, Marcel, Thomas, Stuart; nieces Dorothy, Josanna, Abby and Lyla. Countless family and friends who held a special spot in Tammy’s heart who will miss her dearly.

Tammy was known for her smile. When people think of her, they instantly think of her smile and that contagious, sometimes hilarious, laugh. She loved to talk and made everyone feel welcomed in both her personal life and through her many roles working with the public over the years whether it be Hilliard’s Variety, Pizza Delight and everywhere in between. She had a wonderful sense of humor and had a way of making life fun. There are SO many stories that could be shared about her life’s adventures and the impact she made in other people’s lives. Her family and friends have countless memories to reflect on and keep her memory alive.

Tammy loved to spend time with her family and friends- especially if that time was spent outdoors. She loved being at the beach, going for drives in the woods, or sitting in front of a fire with those she loved. Tammy enjoyed the outdoors since childhood and she always said her dream career was a career in forestry.

Tammy loved her family and her children were her pride and joy. She was extremely proud of their accomplishments and being there for all their life milestones were some of her proudest moments.  She wouldn’t have missed any of these special occasions for the world and we know she will be there in spirit for all future occasions.

The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to the staff on 2nd west, 4 east and the oncology department at the Chaleur Regional Hospital; the Bathurst Extra Mural program; the oncology staff at the Dr. George Dumont Hospital as well as a special thanks to phycologist, Annie Jalbert.  Lastly, a very special thank you to her sister, Susan, and partner, Keith, for being by her side through the good and bad over these past few years, right up until the very end. Not everyone is fortunate enough to have that kind of love and devotion in their life.

Tammy loved animals and in particular, her cats Minky and Ambrose. If anyone would like to make a donation in memory of Tammy, it was her wishes that they be made to the Restigouche County SPCA, Dalhousie.
