Terrance O’Brien Obituary

In Loving Memory of Terrance (Terry) O’Brien

Terrance “Terry” O’Brien, aged 73, passed away in his home on August 4, 2025.

Terry was a kind and funny man who lived life with a big heart. He grew up fishing the waters and hunting the woods of New Brunswick, a love of the outdoors that stayed with him throughout his life. Whether he was casting a line or cooking up a feast, Terry found joy in the simple things—especially when shared with others.

He will be remembered for his kind heart, quick wit, and deep love for his family and friends. He had a special way of making people laugh, whether through a well-timed joke or his warm, easygoing nature.Terry also had a soft spot for animals, especially his beloved dog Bailey, who rarely left his side.

He was an incredible cook who took pride in feeding the people he loved, and he never missed a chance to sit down and truly enjoy a good meal. His laughter was genuine, his stories unforgettable, and his smile will never be forgotten.

One of Terry’s greatest companions in later years was his dog, Bailey. The bond they shared was something truly special—more than a pet, Bailey was his shadow, his sidekick, and his loyal friend. Terry often said that Bailey understood him better than most people could, and it was clear the feeling was mutual. Their connection brought him daily joy, comfort, and companionship that words could never fully capture.

Terry was the son of the late Harold and Opal (Godin) O’Brien. He was brought up by Walter and Bertha Carrier.

He leaves behind his daughters, Kathleen O’Brien (Joshua S), and Tracy Godin (Joshua G); brothers Pius of Jacquet River, Jim (Ginnie) of Vernon, BC and Pierre (Claudette) of Belledune; sisters Dell (Lorne) of Rawdon, QC and Yvonne of Jacquet River and countless friends who cherished him deeply, and whose lives are forever better for having known him.

He was also predeceased by five siblings Ludger, Carl, George, Anne and Simonne.

A graveside service will be held at the St. Maria Goretti cemetery, Lorne on Saturday August 16th, 2025 at 1pm followed by a celebration of life at his house after.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to honor Terry’s memory by sharing a meal with someone you love—and laughing just a little louder than usual
