Theresa Tardiff

January 6, 1927 ~ July 26, 2021 (age 94)


 It is with heavy hearts that the family of Theresa (Arsenault) Tardiff of Bathurst, formerly of Jacquet River, announce her passing at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst on July 26, 2021 at the age of 94. 

 Born in Jacquet River, she was the daughter of the late Alexina (Hachey) and William Arsenault. She was predeceased by her husband Edgar, daughter Paula and son Michael; brothers Gerald, Lawrence and sister Dola Murphy. 

 Theresa is survived by her children; Brenda (Dr. Terry Arnett) of Calgary, Bill of Edmonton, David (Nancy) of Bathurst; son in law Jim Murray of Saint John; grandchildren Graham Arnett, Jane Arnett, Dr. Ben Tardiff, Dr. Clark Tardiff all of Calgary; Tristan Murray of Saint John, Cpl. Tanner Murray of Gagetown, Craig Tardiff of Timmons Ontario; sisters Margaret Miller of Jacquet River, Ann Legacy of Jacquet River, Jenny Roy of Bathurst along with several nieces and nephews. 

  In her early years, Theresa was secretary working for various business and schools. She was a life long member of St. Gabriel’s Roman Catholic Church and was a proud fifty year member of the Catholic Women’s League. As an active parishioner, Theresa volunteered as church secretary, choir member and was an alter server and reader. She was also a long time member of the local Lioness Service Club. 

  The family would like to thank Lillian Drapeau and the staff of Southern Comfort Villa for the excellent care and kindness extended to Mom during her four year stay and who she appreciated and praised often for their constant care and concern. Also, many thanks to the doctors and staff of the palliative care unit of the Chaleur Regional Hospital for their kindness and compassion. 

Due to current Covid health restrictions, a private funeral service is to be held. 

 Arrangements are in the care of Macmillan’s Funeral Home, Black Point. At the family’s request, in lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Theresa’s memory to a charity of choice.
