Thomas Fournier Obituary

August 11, 1937-June 22, 2022

In Loving Memory

My Cherished Companion
"Has Gone With Joy
To Meet His Lord
Forgiven, Loved, And Free."

He was born on a farm in Belledune, NB by the Bay of Chaleur, the youngest of ten children. Under the ever-present watchfulness and concern of those five brothers and four sisters he grew, and his lifelong love for nature and cars and his Catholic faith came alive.

The need for employment took him to Ontario where working as a welder in Local 67, he was able to purchase his first home on Grace Avenue in Hamilton and later his loved home on Book Road in Ancaster. Here, this talented, hardworking, do-it-yourselfer thrived. A run-down farmhouse became a comfortable home.

Tom shared many memorable moments with three families who brought countless happy hours of love and laughter into his life.

His own Fournier Family
My Legendre Family
And the three sisters of the Dunn Family
With their three children
To whom he was like a father

Tom made a difference in the lives of others. He was selfless, the accolades and praises of the world were never his aim. His unassuming, peaceful, giving thoughtfulness, together with his quiet, content acceptance of the challenges of Parkinsons were an inspiration.

To all who touched his life, Thank You! There are many wonders in a quiet life well lived.

I Love You Thomas, Dottie

Tom will be closing the door on this life with a 10:00 a.m. Mass on Friday, July 15th at St. Ann's Church (11 Wilson Street, W. Ancaster, ON). All are welcome to come and celebrate his new beginning. Arrangements entrusted to Dodsworth & Brown Funeral Home, Ancaster Chapel (905) 648-3852. Please sign the online Book of Condolence at www.dbancaster.ca.
