Vernon Hickey

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Vernon J. Hickey at the age of 84.

He passed away peacefully at the Campbellton Regional Hospital.

Vernon was someone with a heart of gold and was kind to everyone. He was always family oriented and loved visits from his sons Jason and John and his grandson Brad. He was also fond of his daughter-in-law Karen to whom he referred to many times as the daughter he never had.

Besides his children, Vernon so cherished and loved his wife Claudine for 49 years. They had a love for each other that is so rarely seen these days. His dedication and loyalty to his wife was an inspiration to all that knew him.

Vernon loved spending his free time gardening and enjoyed playing cribbage every chance he could. His love of life and laughter was evident to everyone who interacted with him as he was a man with no enemies.

Vernon was predeceased by his wife Claudine, his parents and several brothers and sisters. 

He is survived by his children Jason (Karen) of Fredericton, John of Fort McMurray and his grandson Brad. He is also survived by his sister Minine Lavigne of Lorne.

Funeral service will be held at the St Gabriel's Church, Jacquet River on Friday, November 15, 2024 at 11:00 AM.
