Viola May Moody

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of May Moody of Blackland which occurred on Thursday, May 29, 2025 at the Campbellton Regional Hospital at the age of 87.

Born on Heron Island, she was the daughter of the late Elvina and John Welsh.

She was predeceased by her husband of 68 years Chesley Moody (2004). She was also predeceased by her sisters Francis, Jean, and Elva as well as her two brothers Daniel and Norman and son-in-law Raymond Landry. 

May is survived by her sister Sarah, three sons Larry (Linda) of Blacklands, Allen (Kimberly) of Dalhousie, and Adam (Karen) of Charlo as well as her two daughters Karen Landry of Campbellton and Carolyn Olsen(David) of Dalhousie Jct.

May was the proud grandmother of four grandchildren; James, Greg, Mitchell and Natasha as well as seven great grandchildren; Cadence, Aryanna, Draven, Brenya, Shania, Skyler, and Annabelle. 

She loved baking and doing up preserves and  had a fondness for all types of music on the open road. 

Her funeral service will be held at MacMillan and Drapeau Funeral Chapel in Benjamin on Thursday June 05 2025 at 2 PM with visitation at the MacMillan Drapeau Funeral Parlour on Wednesday June 04 from 2-4 and 6-8 in the evening.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to New Mills Cemetery grounds maintenance. 

Funeral arrangements are in the care of MacMillan & Drapeau Funeral Home, Black Point.
