Obituary

It is with great sorrow to announce the passing of William (Bill) Levesque at the age 62 due to a brain aneurysm at the Hopital De L'enfant-Jesus in Quebec City on June 15, 2023.

William is the son of Annette (Gauthier/Levesque) Landry and the late Gerald Francis Levesque, brother to Elaine (Jean-Eudes) Levesque-Godin, uncle to Julian Godin, Emma Earle, Kysha (Daniel) Winchester, Isabelle and Benoit Landry, Alexa Landry, stepbrother to Eric (Tanya) Landry, John (Louise) Landry, Nicole (Louis) Landry Berube, and the late Deane Landry.

William was preceded in death by his father Gerald Francis Levesque, stepsister Deane Landry, aunt Lorraine Levesque (whom he resided with for many years in Chateauguay), cousin Danielle (Simard) Johnstone, paternal grandparents Elizabeth (Blais) Levesque and Richard Levesque, maternal grandparents Olive (LaPointe) Gauthier and William Gauthier, close friend Darren Kane, and several cousins, aunts, and uncles.

William (Bill) was born on February 12, 1961, in Murdochville, Quebec (and proud of it). In 1969, our family relocated to Jacquet River, NB where William resided in his youth until moving to Chateauguay, Quebec. He returned to live in Nash Creek, NB for a period of time but finally returned to Chateauguay (which he called Home).

William (Bill) was an avid sport enthusiast (GO BRUINS) and would always welcome the opportunity to play golf with his cousins (from both sides of the family). His passions were simple; backyard BBQ’s, canoe rides and fishing with his cousins, backyard shenanigans, corn hole tournaments, playing poker, shooting golf balls, a boat ride to Heron Island, a bonfire, and to travel and exploration of the various parts of Canada, the USA, and England with close family members/friends. His many adventures always involved his love of food, friends/family, and a cup of tea.

William (Bill) had a passion to make people laugh, an extraordinary sense of humour, a notorious quick wit, and was known for his fun-loving, kind, compassionate spirit. No matter the struggles, the numerous surgeries or how much pain he endured, he never complained or gave up. He made the most of his life with a positive attitude, a lesson we should all live by.

There will be no service for William (Bill), a private grave side gathering will commence later. A celebration of life will take place at a later date. Any donations can be made to the charity of one’s choice.

Arrangements are in the care of MacMillan's Funeral Home, Black Point.
